Live Date Joy to Me!

Literally translate to Happy Birthday To Me from Cantonese.. well if I understood those meaning correctly...

KFC chocolate sundae as my birthday cake. The plastic spoon as my candle ;)

My birthday dinner meal... KFC Colonel Yakiniku.. good to start new year ahead with some "confidence" ;)

I spent a quiet and peaceful birthday celebration in the hotel room. Had my birthday meal and my birthday cake. Made some wishes as usual. Hope next year would be filled with much more exciting events to remember!

I went to Bandung yesterday. Left the hotel at 5am and returned by 6pm. Booked the BlueBird taxi which cost 1.2million rupiah (approx. RM300) for 2-way trip, including toll (75K rupiah), gasoline and parking charges. Bandung is a real shopping haven! Now when I hear any advertisement saying that KL is one... I'll never bother about it anymore... compared to Jakarta and Bandung, shopping in KL is nothing, nothing! I would prefer to take a flight down to Bandung twice a year to do my shopping. If you knew that a nice pair of Guess Jeans only cost RM60 and CK shirts cost RM20.. you'll never want to spend paying hundreds to get the same in KL!

I've also checked out Tangkuban Perahu...well for those who've never seen an active volcano before, it's worth checking out --- at least like what people said, been there, done that.

We had Sundanese breakfast here... sitting down on the mat laid inside the hut. Cool!

Simple food with nice ambience

At Gunung Tangkuban Perahu, first time at a volcano crater

Tangkuban Perahu volcano is one of the 129 active volcanoes in Indonesia. 1820m above sea level.

Locals selling local delicacies

Locals selling colourful hammock by the roadside

Lush tall greens, nice view

I've never been to Cameron Highlands but at the highland where tea is grown, I guess it's similar

To Asia Afrika??

There's 1/2 Penang bridge in Bandung. Earlier I was in "Subang" too, on the way up to Tangkuban Perahu

One of the factory outlets in Bandung. Never want to shop in KL anymore, not even Pg. I'd make it possible to go to Bandung twice a year to replenish my wardrobe from now on.

Local Masakan Jawa... looks aplenty but I still miss my Penang Hokkien Mee...I still miss home :)

Another year, another countdown...

Another countdown begins... and this is the first time I may be missing my own countdown. I've always countdown till midnight.. wait for the first second to tick past midnight and wait by my phone to see whose message or call would come in first.

But this is the first time I am away so far from home, alone, doing my countdown. The loneliness is bearable, I guess because I do not have a choice. But why do I need countdown anyway and what's birthday for?

I always like to reminisce what has happened till today. I had many first times this year. I've always tried to do something different or new to remember the year for. This is the year where I've had my first time:

- travelling so much
- to Sri Lanka
- to China, climbed Great Wall
- been drunk, well if dizziness is considered as being drunk
- cutting my hair short after 6 years!
- to Jakarta

- took up hip-hopping and jazzing! after so long...
- had so much fun but realised it was stupid fun after all... hehe

I went shopping in Bandung today, I've forgotten that it's going to be 24 Nov after all until I sit here facing my laptop alone. It's yet another big digit but I hope next year I'll find more things to explore and make this life worthwhile. Happy birthday to me and may everything always end up merry and cheery!
