Normal India this time ;)

Nothing much for me in this trip as there's no public holiday or weekends in between. It's just hotel to office and vice versa for the 6 days there. I just want to post some photos just for the sake of the photos :P

This time I stayed at Radisson Hotel Delhi which sits near the border to Gurgoan. Park Plaza was fully booked and other 5-star hotels were really expensive. Crowne Plaza cost 17000rp per night and Hilton cost 21000rp per night. Park Plaza was 10500rp per night. Radission was 12000rp per night, so I have not much choice unless I want to try out the 3.5-star Lemon Tree Hotel which is around 9100rp... maybe next time. I heard it's clean though.

The hotel room was kind of old and smaller than Park Plaza's, eaten by its age but it was still ok, 'stay'able.

My bedroom was facing the National Highway no 8. Kinda noisy but still bearable. I could request for room change but I didn't.

Lots of pigeons could be seen seeking warmth near my window in the late evening. I had to go real slow to capture this one as they'd fly away when they noticed me around.

The hotel breakfast buffet was quite good. I loved the blueberry crepes, topped with cream and chocolate :P

My lunch again hehe... capati with chicken/mutton curry with North Indian-style vege. The desert was nice though - some corn pudding.

This trip I managed to join some colleagues from China to a Chinese restaurant opp. the office. We had to cross the infamous Gurgoan road to get to this place. The ambience was nice and the Chinese chef greeted us and took our orders as we ordered something out of the menu.

Fried chicken pieces with dried chilis, onions and the famous Sze Chuan chilli seeds. I didn't like the numbing taste of those seeds...

Ma Pou Tau Fu - it didn't taste like Sze Chuan's. I tasted curry instead but I still like it hehe... Our Chinese colleagues didn't like it because they barely touch it.

Potato stripes was our vege dish.

I didn't manage to take any pics of the dishes we had earlier in the week but 3-4 dishes with 3-4 people came up to 1200rp in total. Considered quite cheap and affordable. At least Chinese food was possible in India.

Toll booth by the side on National Highway No. 8 - Amazing huh? I think many cars just drove through without paying the toll. That's why the lane booth was in progress in being active soon.

There was a VIP at the hotel that week. The 'Kannapa' or rather reincarnated Kannapa. He's something like the next-to-thrown Dalai Lama. This guy is very young and quite good-looking. There's a very interesting story about Kannapa that I found in the Internet, source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kannapa

Kannapa, a tribal hunter who belonged to the Yerukula Tribe, was a devoted follower of Lord Siva and one of the 63 Nayanars. Once a priest at the temple objected to his offering meat to a Siva linga. Lord Siva wanted to test the extent of Kannapa's devotion. Blood issued from the right side of the Linga. Kannapa tried to treat it with herbs but failed. So he gouged out his right eye and used it to cover the bleeding wound. Then the left eye of the linga began to bleed. Kannappa was about to gouge out his left eye when he realized that if he did so, he would be unable to find the location of the eye. Placing his leg on the idol at the left eye, he proceeded to gouge out his other eye, but was stopped by Siva, who took him, placed him on his right side and granted him mukti (salvation).

Nokia Siemens Networks office behind ours. I met an ex-colleague when we attended the same meeting with the customer.

I have a feeling that I'll be back in India many times and I will see this building again...
