Communicasia Singapore 18-22 June 2007

I experienced my longest time in Singapore, for a week. I was selected to work as Stand Staff at CommunicAsia - one of the largest IT and telecommunication events in APAC. It was held at Singapore Expo for 4 days. It was exciting for me as I just like being in Singapore - a very well-organised country. Everything is just so convenient and cheap! Well, don't compare $ to RM but if you work and earn there, everything is really cheap! I don't know why our own country can never be on par... well anyway, born Malaysian, will always be Malaysian - we can't choose it.

Staying at Orchard Hotel in Orchard road - I spent most travelling using the MRT going around shopping (yes! It was Singapore Sale time!) and visiting my old friend Mei Ling in Sembawang. It was such a joy hanging around with her and her 3-year-old son Malcolm. Too bad I couldn't manage to take a pic of them. Must do it next time when I go to Singapore again (hopefully!)

Had to stand 8 hours at the booth and there were many people - had to explain the technology and product that I was representing again and again and again... but it was really fun getting to know other colleagues from other countries. Proud of Nokia Siemens Networks' booth though. We all had to wear this formal yellow shirt with black pants. It looked a bit weird but when everybody was wearing it, then it looked ok ;)

I was at this booth where the lady was sitting (on the left). Took these photos from the second floor (yes, our booth has upper floor)
My colleague told me that the Merlion was very small haha, like just 1 feet tall so I told Mei Ling about it. She took me to see the real Merlion - we walked about 20min from the nearest MRT at 10pm! Imagine walking along the park without the feeling of being robbed or followed.. that's how safe it is in Singapore - just feel sad that we couldn't have the same feelings back in KL :(
And there stood the Merlion - big one!! Haha - Mei Ling and I continued to chit-chat at the nearby Starbucks till 11pm...
Oh ya, my hotel room was cool! All staff got 4 complimentary drinks from the minibar and free internet access! :) First time I ever touch any drinks from hotel's minibar and I had a 32-inch LCD TV in my room too!
