My house is now 5kg lighter

I took the opportunity to use my long break to get rid of tonnes of old clothes, toys, souvenirs, shoes, hair clips and anything that can still be salvaged, packed them up in 9 big plastic and paper bags, separated for girls and boys and delivered them to the orphanage today.

First such thing I ever did in my life. And I wished I had more to pack for them.

I went to the first home, House of Joy (http://www.joy.org.my/hojenglish/) in Puchong. It was an old semi-detached house, with lots of clothes hanging to dry in front of the house. A little girl sat inside the house packing up pocket tissues for sale. The lady-in-charge told me that all of them went to do some jobs for the upcoming charity event next week. I left the bags there and left.

Then I went to the second home, Rumah Hope(http://www.rayma.com.my/RumahHope/sanctuary.html) in Taman Paramount PJ. It was a big bungalow with big kitchen and big compound. It looks much better and cleaner there. However I did not see any kids around, maybe they were having their afternoon nap. There were a couple in the living room. I left the stuff and I bid goodbye. The lady-in-charge kept on thanking me.

If you have any clothes or anything that you have kept in your cupboard for years, you can do your part by sending them to the nearest shelter to you. You can free up your cupboard for newer things and someone out there may appreciate the stuff that you do not need anymore.

This is good. I donated my 30cm teddy bear to charity. A friend who manned the booth told me that it was sold early on. So glad to hear that. :D

I don't plan to buy a new one :P If not, I wouldn't have donated the old one since it was brand new! Hehehe...too many things in the house...must clear up some space.
